The Red Chair Children's Production Co. is a non-profit performing arts organization which brings children's performing arts to our community. Our programs focus on giving students 5-18 years of age an extraordinary theater and dance experience. We offer a program that challenges and inspires them to be confident young performers who grow into creative adults. In addition our unique programs feature professional teachers and performers that span all art forms and theatre disciplines. Students here at The Red Chair learn valuable life skills, such as teamwork, creativity, imagination, public speaking, problem solving, playfulness and responsibility - all in an atmosphere where it is safe to take creative risks. Anna Smith (Marketing Director) began her love for the theater as a child while at Boston Children's Theater. She started stage-managing in high school, and while in college she interned in the box office at the Lyric Stage in Boston, MA. She worked as an assistant director and stage manager at the Academy Playhouse and as the resident stage manager at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, both on Cape Cod, MA. Anna has worked in management in the retail industry, and as a Gymboree teacher for five years. She currently lives in Burbank with her husband and two children. Gabrielle Edinburgh (Artistic Director) is a graduate of Cal State University at Northridge with a B.A. in Theater Arts. She has been teaching preschool for the past seven years and has been a Gymboree music teacher for the past six years. She studied acting under Ann Eldridge and voice under Victoria Cutler. Gabrielle was accepted into the Mark Taper Forum Musical Workshop in L.A. and has acted in children's touring theater productions. She lives in Burbank with her son. Sylvia Kelman (Director of Business Affairs) is a graduate of Cal State University at Northridge with a B.A. in Humanities with a concentration in Film Arts. She also studied abroad, studying Shakespearean plays at the Royal Shakespeare Theater and the Royal National Theater in England. Sylvia has worked in accounting for the film industry, bookkeeping for small businesses and as a Gymboree teacher. She lives in Burbank with her husband and three children. |
